Hey Curve (or anyone else)
I've got a spare 6 gig hard drive that I've removed from my PC and would like to install it in my mate's VS880. It still contains some PC stuff. Will the VS format it like it is. or do I have to wipe it first? Also, is there anything else I need to know before I do this?
Thanks
Mark

well..obviously this is a laptop drive right? What RPM speed is it? If it's 5400RPM I dont think it will work..if my memory serves me correctly I believe the VS series can only take 4200RPM drives...but I could be wrong on that..if it does accept 5400RPM drives then yes, put the drive in, and do a physical format with Surface scan on...this will format it for the VS and will wipe everything on the drive for you..it probably would be a good idea to wipe it first but it's not totally neccessary. Usually when you put a new drive in it detects it and will tell you it needs formatting and bring you thru the process for you. Hope that helps
