Hi all,
Well I'm a little aggravated this morning. I've been eyeing the Shure donut mounts for a couple of weeks now and finally picked up a pair. Turns out the diameter of the 451 is too small for the Shure mount!
Anyone else have any ideas on how to shockmount a 451? I'd prefer not to have a bulky spider mount, but I don't know what else I could use.
Suggestions are welcomed!
Thanks,
Dirk

Easy fix-
Put a piece of shrink tubing around the butt end of the mic... You can even put an indentification label on under it so that your mics never get confused with anybody elses...
Otherwise- the Audio Technica 8415 is good (and smaller than the 8410) or the PSC shockmount that is made for film boom poles is good...

Both AT and SabraSom have universal shock mounts for SDCs such as the 451 (and Schoeps/Neumann/Gefell/etc). Of course, you can check E-bay too. There are always inexpensive shockmounts there for SDCs.
