How is it looking for you? I'm noticing the forum slowing down now so I'm assuming many of our members in the path are moving to safer ground. I hope you and your families are all safe and un effected by this beast of a storm we're hearing about. It sounds like its going to be a crazy weekend.

Take care

We're too far inland to expect anything here in Blacksburg except maybe a little rain (which would be a good thing for us). I have in-laws in Jersey and Maryland who I'm a bit concerned about. The ground in Jersey is already saturated. Could be bad if this thing moves slow and drops a lot of water.

Stay safe.

We're find here in the central Piedmont of NC.

Only traces of rain and blustery wind. A few leaves and sticks in the yard, and the walnut tree dropped some near ripe fruit. Other than that... much ado about nuttin' here though.

Looks like east of Raleigh-down to New Bern, Irene was mainly responsible for downed trees and power lines. Friends there, have been without power since 6:30-ish AM Sat morning. Roads are fairly passable until you get down to the coast and sound. Not too much wind damage compared to many other hurricanes, and flooding is minimal in comparison to other storms as well.

A buddy up in Midlothian is still hangin' in there with minimal tree limb damage. (As of about an hour ago) But, he fears there is still quite a bit more "time on task" for Irene to do a good bit more to his area.

Another mate up in NJ isn't too worried about his area having much damage. He's up over the mountains, but he said that the coastal areas could be in for a rough time because of the ground saturation...

I'm concerned for friends and family up in Conn. I understand their soil is indeed pretty saturated as well.

Stay safe ya'll!
