I'm looking in to finding an interface to pick up for recording to my computer. I need something that I can record at least 4 tracks(8 preferably) simultaneously with and I'm having trouble coming by anything that can go beyond 2 tracks of simultaneous recording capability. If anyone has any good suggestions, they would be much appreciated.

Greetings,
Like Ms Remy, I went down the MOTU route (2408mk3 + 24I/O), however, depending upon your budget, there's quite a wide choice of multiple input interfaces out there from various manufacturers including M Audio, Echo, Lynx, Edirol (Roland), RME, etc.
I'd suggest you think about your budget and specific needs (e.g. does it have to be PCI, Firewire or USB? Do you require digital interconnection as well as/instead of analog? Etc.), then come back with more detail.

A lot of people on this forum, myself included, own a Mark of the Unicorn 2408. This particular device was rather versatile as it allows 8 simultaneous analog inputs along with 24 light pipe and TASCAM TDIF simultaneous digital inputs. 8 analog and 16 digital inputs can be used simultaneously. The unit new goes for around $800 US. It requires the installation of a PCI card and includes a nice breakout box as the interface. There are also a number of other units available, some with FireWire interface that does not require anything to be installed that included from 8 to 10 inputs from companies like MOTU, Presonus and Maudio.
