I'm looking for a laptop that has the requirements to record good quality music. Would this budget laptop do the trick?
If not, let me know what it's lacking so I can improve my search. Just a heads up, I'm trying to stay around the $500 mark if possible, so Macbook Pro's are out of the question.

The computer will limit the number of tracks you can record/play
The computer will limit the number of tracks you can record/play at once, the amount of processing you can do and what hardware can be connected. The quality of the music is up to the people writing and playing it.
The computer you are looking at has a 5400rpm drive. That will restrict the number of tracks you can record/play compared to a 7200rpm (or faster) drive.
