Do you have a MIDI track set up in Cubase? If so, do you see incoming MIDI data in the track when you play your MIDI device? If so, do you have the MIDI tracks output set to one of the VST instruments?

If all that's set up, check the MIDI channel being used. If you only have a single MIDI device set it to all and then the channel shouldn't matter.

Unless the Lambda has a midi sound generator you might want to set your midi out to your onboard midi or if all else fails Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth. The VSTi's still need something to render the sound for them, whether it be a chip or software. You might think that your interface should do this but that's not necessarily so. If you have an onboard soundcard that has some sort of synth chip, that will do. Otherwise MS GS Wavetable Synth does a pretty good job. Remember midi is only DATA. There is no sound produced.

You don't need to do this.

When using VSTi's, the computers CPU does the work. You don't need to select a sound card or the Microsofts thingie to use VSTi's. The CPU will generate the audio which then can be routed within Cubase eventually making it to the Lambda's audio outputs.
