I have a Emu 1820M.
Just got a new computer.
HP m8530f Quad Core AMD Phenom X4 9550, 5Gigs RAM.
Memory Speed of 800Mhz
However, the HP m8530f has no PCI slots,
only PCI-Express(PCI-E) slots.

There is a PCI-E to PCI adapter availuable.

It has been successfully used for the UAD PCI card. Someone also had the issue with their computer not haveing an availuable PCI slot. This can be seen in this Forum Thread.

Here is an adapter for purchase that was used in the UAD PCI example.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

Otherwise I will have to return the computer and downgrade to a Gateway GT5694 Quad Core, each operating at 1.8Ghz, with 4Gigs RAM.
Memory Speed of 667Mhz. Which does have the PCI slots.

Using a PCIe to PCI-X adaptor is a practical solution in some circumstances.

HOWEVER, to use that particular adaptor, your PCI card must be low-profile and not standard-height, so this will rule out using it with most audio interfaces, inluding your EMU 1820M.

Your choice is to get a computer with PCI-X slots or to get a new PCIe soundcard.
