Do any of you have any idea whether a PreSonus StudioLive 32.4.2 can be daisy chained with their 16 or 24 StudioLivemixers? We are looking for an FOH mixer with min. 40 channels. Thinking to go digital but not finding many options with that many mic preamps.

I'm glad this thread resurfaced. Previously you could NOT cascade StudioLive mixers unless they were both the same number of channels. [ two x 24s, two x 16s, three x 16s, for example ] But as of a couple weeks ago, (mid June 2014) the AI series of StudioLives CAN be cascaded in some new ways.

So not only can you link two SL32.4.2AI mixers now for 64, you can cascade StudioLive AI series with different frame sizes. So for the OP, you could pair a 32.4.2AI with a 16.4.2AI for a 48, (or two 24.4.2AI) And you can, as they say - do the math on the different combinations. Just remember, you CANNOT link an original series StudioLive of any size, with a newer AI series StudioLive of any size.
I've used two of the original series 24.4.2 to make a seamless 48.8.2…. very slick.
The last I heard, you could only chain similar models.See PreSon

So you could link a 24.4.2 mixer with another 24.4.2 mixer to get to 48, [or three 16s] but you could not mix two with different channel counts.
Good luck.
