Hi guys, help me out here. I've been having trouble getting that Black Album, Nickelback, guitar sound that Randy Staub always uses in his mixes, you know, full but spacious guitars. I always get a big wall of sound that sounds cool, but it fills up the mix too much in the mids (so nothing else stands out there's little room for the drums or the vocals) and when I start scooping out some fullness with eq, it starts to loose texture and sounds fake, what can I do to get that in your face yet wide and deep guitar sound?
