I am using windowsXP,512MB,2.00GHz,80HD,E-mu1820m.I am recording with cubasis VST4.0.This just started happening after i formatted my computer,not long after that. As i am working the recording program will freeze up, this just started tonight.I was working in wavelab lite with cubasis VST4.0 and as i was working it started freezing up,but also if i leave the computer for a few minutes it will freeze up,working very slowly or not at all this happen most time.I have followed the( musicXP.net-tuning windowXP for audio),but it still seem to be happening.Is there any thing eles that i might be able to do to fix this.

Make sure nothing else is running while your recording software
Make sure nothing else is running while your recording software is running. Virus protection, etc. Finding everything that's running can be a real trick!
I recently had a problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0's "automatic update" function(s)((I've found 2, so far!)) that locked-up the machine when it tried to find updates on the web(Turned off during recording) while my recording sotware was on. I still can't find out how to turn off an AAR service, so have to manually turn it off prior to recording. Of course I will soon just un-install AAR, but, I like it in there!
