What's your favorite Tannoy studio monitors?

My favorite of the Tannoy line for near fields is the Precision 8. I currently have the Reveal 6D (the blue ones) simply because I've been spending money elsewhere. I know there is a certain something you can taste in the sound but I've never had that get in the way of my mixes. I'd rather have some Genelecs but that comes later after I expel my G.A.S. in other directions first.

(but not so much for post production...)
They don't have so much low end but what's there is pretty nice.
The high end is flat as it can be. (i measured it and couldn't believe it)
The space/depth is amazing on those ones...
I wish i could listen to some of those new ones.

Original NFM-8s (circa 1985?) were an eye-opener for me, totally unhyped almost boringly accurate portrayal of balances and imaging. The subsequent revisions are excellent mix references -- I still use a pair of System 800s -- but for some reason I don't find them quite as trustworthy as the NFM-8.

I've owned the maroon Reveals, and they were absolutely a starter monitor speaker, as pitched. For the price, I'd recommend the Yammy MSP5s instead. They definitely have the 'neutral' intent of a studio monitor but with a very variable midrange quotient that can suit some styles more than others; possibly room-specific but more likely just cheap and variable main drivers.
