Hi,
It has been 5 years since I last had a real drum kit and I am about to purchase an electric kit for my home studio, but there is one problem... I live on the top floor of a 3 story apartment building. I don't think the sound of me hitting the pads will carry, but I am worried about the thump of the kick foot pedal on the floor. Is there something I can place under the pedal to deaden or remove the thump that may go through the floor? I expect that I will be leaving this apartment later in the year for a house, but wonder what I can do now other than determine the downstairs neighbors schedule and drum around it.
Thanks,
Jeff

I saw this stuff- it's like a hard foam or something - made for decoupling guitar amplifiers from the floor. Maybe you could rest your kick on that.
It's called Gramma and it's made by auralex
