I have just installed the demo of T-Racks 3 and ran it stand alone and tried to improt an MP3 file of a Mix i had done earlier and it would not recognise the file format so I did a Mix of the same track to a 16 bit Wav file with a dither plugin across the Stereo Master and when I import
it into T-Racks there is some strange Alien distortion signal on the track all the way through?
Am i bouncing it wrong? does it need to be 24bit with no dither? Do i Have to set the Track format to Wave, 24bit 44.1Khz with Dithering on
and tick the "Link T-Racks processors to Audio file" Box?
I checked the Meters on my mix and they are Ok, just hitting 0db slightly in places.

I figured it out, basically as i was runningt T-Racks in stand alone mode and still running Pro Tools i could not get T-racks to use the ASIO driver and could only get it to use the windows directX driver and my on board Audio out not Digidesign Analogue outs!
When i ran it instand alone mode with Pro Tools shutdown i could configure it to use the ASIO driver and Digi outs!
Imported my 24 bit file and problem solved!
When i try and get the demo to run as a plugin in pro tools it launches as though its in stand alone mode as an insert in Pro Tools and a lot of the graphics
of it are blacked out so you cant use it as a plugin at all. I thought i would be abl to select any of the compressors or a limiter etc as seperate plugins but
when i click on my inserts list it just lists T-racks 3 and runs that as a plugin.
Can you not select any of the modules by themselves as an insert instead of having T-racks as a whle as an insert?

By "just installed", do you mean it has been more than 10 days since you installed it? If so, the IKMultimedia site says "the software will emit a small noise every several seconds". Putting aside for a moment the thought that IKMultimedia is a Mediterranean company with presumably corresponding dietary habits, it could be that it's just trying to tell you that it's time to cough up or give up.
If it's a new install, and in any case, you should be mixing to a 24-bit file without dither and then selecting 24-bit 44.1KHz for your input source file specification in T-racks. Since you are not reducing the wordlength, you should not do any dithering in the mix on your way into T-racks. Only when you have the processed master and are ready to burn to CD would you reduce and dither to 16-bit. This can be done by T-racks on output, but on the occasions I have used T-racks, I have always wanted to check the 24-bit master in another DAW before CD burning, so I have never used this setting.
The "Link T-Racks processors to Audio file" check box relates to whether chained processes inherit the same attributes as the source audio file, so I don't think that would make any difference in your simple test.
