Hello All,
this is my first post, which means I graduate from "Lurker". OK. I want to convert a wav file that's 37.20 mbs to one that's less than 2.0 mbs so that I can attach it to email. I tried saving as mp3 in Cool Edit pro but only got it down to 3.7mbs. Can anybody tell me how to do this.
:)
thanks
Dudley

Doing some quick math... a 37MB Wav converts into a 128kbps MP3 which is 3.7MB... to get it under 2MB, you'd have to encode the MP3 at 64kbps, which sounds terrible.

You might want to try Vorbis' .ogg format instead. Its quality is superior to that of MP3 at those low bitrates.

Or you could sign up for some free webspace at places like Geocities, (though that's a horrible example), and upload the file there.
