Hi,
So far this is what i know
If i have a mic and i want to get a decent sound to my PC, one way of going about it is to put the mic into a combined A/D converter and mic preamp amp and then send this to a digi 001 system and it pops out at the computer.

However... That was using a combined A/D Converter and mic Preamp.. (specifically the Apogeetrack 2) I assume you need both of them in order for it to work yes?
(working as much in digital as possible) If not then ignore the next section and tell me i'm a fool. (and why preferably):P

Say i have an A/D Converter... and a Mic Preamp but in seperate units... which do i put first?

for example...
Prism are allegidly a top notch A/D converter company...
this is one of their A/D's

When do you put the mic preamp amp in...
Surely it has to be before right? because a mic preamp amp amplifes the mic's analog signal... right? or.. not?

Thanks.. i really have no idea
