Which mic to overhaul?

Either a Sony 37a or cmv563 w several capsules. I would like to invest in one for now and either sell the other or put it away for another time. Both seem to work OK but have not been looked at for years. Can either can be modded to become a first rate mic.

I guess I'm wondering if a cmv563 can be modded to become a first rate mic on a variety of sources at the level of a wonderful u47 or u48? Or maybe as versitile as a nice sounding u87?
