What are the differences between the original 609, the 609 Silver and the 906 which seems to be more or less a 609. Haven't had a chance to use any of them so any input would be great.

The e609silver is supposed to be modeled after the original md40
The e609silver is supposed to be modeled after the original md409. Compared to the e609 it is a little less expensive and sounds a little brighter, with a bump somewhere around 4.5k.
The e906 has a 3 position filter...here's a quote from their site:
"one boosts the presence range (with a mid frequency of 4.2kHz) for aggressive metal rhythm guitars. The Normal position is great for classic rock. And the third position attenuates the presence range, with a mid frequency of 4 kHz, for warm and smooth jazz and blues sounds"
All three are supercardioid and have a frequency response of 40hz-18khz.

I had brought this question up before and I think the e609s has different freq response or something like that to be more smooth, I'm pretty sure that I found the answer on Sennheiser's web site explaining what the improvements are.
