I read very recently (either online or some printed publication, but I considered it a "trusted" source - while still acknowledging that rumors do happen) that BeOS is discontinuing development. The source seemed to indicate that this was likely the result of BeOS' abandoning multi-media development for an Internet application thrust.

Since Radar 24 uses BeOS, how will this affect current and later development of Radar? When one company bases part of their product on another, I have to wonder what happens if one of the cards (in this case, a main card... the OS!) seems to be falling?

Hi,

Actually Palm bought the IP, code base and the key development engineers from BeOS. The future? Who knows. That's OK for us though because we have a long term license and what we have works great!

If we do decide to port RADAR we have a very large window to work with. Also, during the last port we did, from DOS to BeOS, we encapsulated RADAR code alot more making it much more portable.

cheers...
