Hey Guys,
new to the board here. I am opening a studio shortly, door open March 1st in Toronto. I have a chance to buy a bunch of Audix micro D-s for a pretty good price. I am planning on using them as tom mics, but not sure. Other mics of interest were Atm25's, 421's, Audix D2's, Electro-Voice 168's. I can get a good deal on the Audix mics, but have yet herd them. Has anyone recorded with them yet? reviews?

I've done a couple recordings using D2's on rack toms and D6's o
I've done a couple recordings using D2's on rack toms and D6's on floor toms and they sounded pretty good. I haven't heard the micro D's. If your considering 421's though, I think you should go that route. Another mic to consider is an EV RE-20 I love it on low toms and bass guitar.
