I currently have a soundblaster live in my windows XP system. However, i'm
looking to get into computer sampling/recording and want to get a GSIF
compatible card.

The two i'm looking at are the Terratec EWX 24/96 and Midiman Audiophile
2496 as both are around £160-180 and seem to have the hardware support i'm
looking for.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these cards under winXP and
have they had any problems (i have a VIA motherboard and the soundblaster
cards caused all sorts of problems and needed lots of tweaking).

Much appreciated

Well...XP is tough due to it's newbie syndromes! Any New OS is going to take some time and a few service packs and or upgrades to make it work ok..right now Win2K is the OS to go for! It's stable..fast and can be made even faster!
Oh yeah..and how can I forget it "sounds better" too..lmao! I'm sure the guys on the Cubase.net forums are squirming again when I say that! Ha ha ha ha!!
I've heard the Audiophile cards are fine under XP..as far as I know that is
