Hello.

I want to ask how can I use my POD XT Live as my soundcard for RECORDING my guitar.
I mean, not recording the POD sound but use it as a INTERFACE ONLY.
Honestly I don't use distortion sounds of POD XT. When I connect POD to my Amp(s) it just ruin the sound (even if I deactivate all effects/amp emulations in it).
So for now I would like to use my POD as a soundcard only, I've heard POD has a pretty good soundcard?
I've tried to make this myself but I've always end up using POD as an amp and recording it...

Gear I have:
Shure SM57
Tapco MIX50 Mixer
Amp I: Peavey JSX
Amp II: Amplug
PC with Windows 7

I know I can use POD to recording my guitar alone but I really want to record my amp sound (Peavey JSX) and a little Amplug which sounds really nice.
And because of that I would like to record my sound in two ways (not sure if this is a good connection):

I. Shure SM57 (Peavey JSX) {XLR Cable} -> {XLR Cable - Mic Input} Tapco MIX50 {Jack Cable - Line?} -> {Jack Cable - Input} POD XT Live {USB Cable?} -> {USB Cable?} PC -> Reaper
II. Guitar -> Amplug {mini Jack 3,5 mm - AUX ?} -> {Mini Jack>Jack - Input} POD XT Live {USB Cable?} -> {USB Cable?} PC -> Reaper

So my main question:

How should I set up my POD XT (to be non-intervention to my sound) as a soundcard (WHAT POD OPTIONS/MODE SHOULD I TURN OFF/ON and how can I do it) and how to set up my PC with it?
And how should I connect the whole chain (in these two ways)?

I'd be very thankful for any thoughts!
Cheers.
