I'm just gearing up my DAW. Installed Wavelab.I see the inevitable. lots of files.
Tell me some tips on keeping these files(samples, current projects, vst's, ?) I want to start out right and not have disorganization slow me down.

I have 2 hd: 80g partitioned: C:OS(xphome) F:Programs,G:Audio, H:Photos.
160g partitioned: I:Temp, J:Recording(125g), K:BackupOld, L:BackupNew.

How do you keep audio files organized? Got any pointers?

Read Ethan Winer's articles on keeping your music PC happy. Find it under Magazine Articles on http://www.ethanwiner.com - it's excellent reading.

His point is that you should have one partition dedicated for programs, one for audio files and one for samples. The programs and samples partitions will never change, therefore you never need to defrag them - only run defrag on the audio partition once in a while, or whenever you've made any major settings in the other partitions.
