Lynx is real good. But E-MU has the best value in quality and price currently on the market.

E-MU, is certainly nice stuff, and if that does it for you, have at it! But, frankly, I needed more quality and more real value for my work. Lynx is all XLR(Not 1/4") connectors and includes AES/EBU, as well as SP/dif, as much analog i/o as you want to pay for and world class converters and their tech support is the best. I'd rather use my own mic preamps, etc. and the "included software and many "features" offered by E-MU, is just not desired, by me... My audio software alone(Wavelab 5) apparently costs more than an E-mu complete system(At least of the one's I looked at.)!? To say nothing of another 500 for the Lynx one card - soon to be a grand for a LynxTwo, along with pre's, mixer, etc...

Pick 'em as you like 'em and can afford 'em, but try to make sure you're paying for ALL you do need and as little as possible of what you don't need - no matter how much or little you pay. Allow your actual needs to be your guide, NOT "features' and "extras' that may be little more than valueless irritants......

The real E-MU value is the EmulatorX Studio package (1820M with mastering grade converters same as in digi HD192) that I own and use as a complete songwriting tool and basic track beds. I've never been more productive. I use an RME 24-ch ADAT I/O with external converters as my main DAW rig.
