Is it possible to hook up a mixing console to a my Toneport UX 2? Can I do this by hooking up to the S/PDIF port?

Assuming what you want to do is replay from the computer into the mixer, the answer is yes, but you can use the S/PDIF output of the UX2 only if you have a digital mixer that has an S/PDIF input. If this is the case, connect it using RCA-RCA coax cable to the S/PDIF output of the UX2 and set the clock source of the mixer to be S/PDIF.

You can not hook up a mixing console via s/pdif as the UX 2 only has s/pdif out (not in.) You could hook up stereo output (R/L) by going into the line level inputs in the rear, hard to tell you exactly as you don't list the mixer, but this should work from most boards. Of course you are only going to get two channels and be careful with gain settings so as to not overdrive the UX.

Thanks for the reply! How do you set the clock source? and can you maybe point me in the direction of what the s/pdif cable looks like for this? What if I were to hook a 1/4 cable to the line inputs of the ux 2 going to the main outs of the mixer? I got a mixer for free the other day, its a yamaha mg12/4 I think its digital..not sure though any ideas?

Thanks for your help! :)
