First off, I realize there are a ton of these threads already but I couldn't seem to find exactly what I was looking for but I'm sorry if some of what I ask is unnecessary.
I've had a Line 6 toneport UX2 for about 2 years now, and I'm considering upgrading. I'm running Logic with A RODE NT1-a mic.
Hoping to fine a good interface with low latency, TRS outputs for my monitors, headphone output (if possibly), phantom power and most importantly good built in preamps for the mic! Either Firewire or USB is fine, mostly just concerned with good pre's. I have been using 2 inputs just fine as I record mostly vocals and sometimes guitar (don't foresee myself investing in a drum mic set anytime soon) but I'm still open to many inputs. Mostly just wanting to get a decent audio interface with good pre's.

No, I just run 1/4 stereo cables from my UX2 to my monitors which are labelled "TRS inputs" , I figured this might have a specific meaning. I'm actually unaware of the difference.
I realize the apogee is highly recommended but it's size is definitely deceiving for me, and yet i've heard so many great things about it! What about PreSonus? I have heard many people say M-audio has terrible pre's, not sure about the Mbox though...

I think presonus is just about as good as anyone, I've had bad experiences with the driver/firmware though so I'm not fond of that.
Certainly you will have to try for yourself, Its the only way to learn anything.

The first thought since your a mac/logic user is an apogee duet.
-10 unbalanced 1/4" output though.

If your so concerned with ballanced out you could always just hook into a Radial JDI Duplex.
