Wondering what some of your favorite mixes are.

song - what you like about it?

looking to expand my arsenal of mixing techniques. and would love to find get some input from others and listen to mixes that make them just drop their jaw and go nuts.

some of my favorites

Weezer - Say it aint so. - in my opinion one of the cleanest mixes i've ever heard. I use this as a reference to set up my studio.

Lately... Kanye west's All of the lights and it's interlude. Amazing track. The layers upon layers of trumpet and syths and strings.

Bon Iver - Blindsided - like i posted in another thread the time reversal on it drives me crazy. Trying to figure it out still...

Sarah Barreilles - king of anything- The VOX diversity and clearly of the the harmonies is amazing.

I dont know if any of you guys do this also but sometimes i try and imitate the sounds that i hear on professional recordings. wanted to try this with say some new things outside of my own library of music.

hope this isn't a dumb topic... would love to hear from you guys.

Let's see...

Incubus - Drive - It has a really down to earth, not overdone kind of sound I feel. I don't know, I really like it, especially the sound of that guitar in the beginning.

Jack Johnson - Flake - Love how this track sounds, especially the ending part. Everything has such a distinct place and is so clear, I like a lot of his recordings.

Third Eye Blind - How's it Gonna Be - The intro and that riff are just so peaceful sounding, the guitar just melts into the rhythm. His voice in this also sounds so desperate which is the perfect fit for this song. One of my all time favorites to listen to
