look for help with warming up the vocals in my recordings. i am using a at2035 into the maudio mbox2 mini. Pro Tools 7.1 is my program. after do the normal eq, condenser, desser, and then busing the delays and reverb the voicals are just coming out to cold; hard; standing out in the mix to much. I'm looking for sugestions. how about a tube preamp added before the mbox. anything you might think of will help. hardware software tricks inserts anything you can think of.

You're going to have the same problems. This is a situation where condenser microphones aren't necessarily the correct choice. I can say with absolute certainty that he'll have better results with a SM58. Really it's true. I've done lots of live television & radio and that's what we use. Watch any musical television show and you'll hear what I'm talking about. They're not using condenser microphones on the vocals. Steve Tyler was not recorded with a condenser microphone. Bono was not recorded with a condenser microphone. Michael Jackson was not recorded with a condenser microphone. Anymore questions?
