the other night i put on some headphones and listened to a CD,
think it was best of chicago, anyway, I noticed that although the vocals were panned prominantly in the centre, the vox were also
coming in from around the sides, it also sounded like they were
coming in on the sides a touch late than the centre,( but didnt sound like an obvious delay) am i making sense? Its kinda hard to explain. It gave the vox a sense of wideness and depth, almost 3d like.
After listening to this, i put on one of my own productions and
the vox are in the centre and thats where they stay!
I'd love to be able to achieve the sound i heard. Any tips?

try the vocalign plug in, this ables you to double your voice. Or simply split the voice in three tracks, put one in the middle, the othere left and right, put an autotune on each, and detune the left and right some cents, leave the middleone like it is.
send the middle one to a chorus, and to a short reverb room.
put all these tracks together in one aux channel and do some compression on it.
but be careful with shorter than 40ms delays!
just add a really quick delay to the left and right .then if you

Make sure its on tempo and that it's quick enough so that you only hear it when the singer finishes a sentences or something like that. If you hear it too much, it might not blend really well....sometimes, it can actually be a cool effect for a bridge of a song or something but anyways....try something like that, should help.
