So, I am learning how to use EQ...and I can't seem to get it right. Here is what I think I am supposed to do:

I first EQ each instrument in my mix.
I then EQ the vocals.
After I mix them...I EQ again to give each part it's "pocket" in the mix.

Hey guys, I was wondering about Antares Tube Preamp modeling. But I have no idea what a tube preamp is... I was very happy with Antares Microphone Modeling (which actually turns my 100 dollar Behringer B-1 into a Neumann U47).

So can someone please explain to me please in the simplest of ways what this Tube Pre-amp modeling will do to my vocals?

So i am going to make the next big step in upgrading my set up.

I am ging to invest in some SCA pres and assemble them myself.

But the only issue I have now is picking a combination of right pres.

I was thinking 4 N72, 2 A12 and 2 J99s or maybe 3 N72, 3 A12 or 2 J99

but i definitely want a combination of those 3 pres.

Topic... and why?

Shouldn't I be ok as long as all my equipment is plugged into the same power source (which it is)?

Hi. I'm setting up my PC for recording. All has gone well, screen, motherboard stuff, in fact, all drivers etc. all except the Audiophile 24/96. All seems well...it shows up in Device MAnager. I can get the levels happening in the mixer when I play a Cd...everything looks ok. I get the "this device is working properly" dialogue. BUT.

hi i was thinking about getting some preamps.

at first i thought, maybe i should buy neve's, and then i changed my mind and thought that i should buy some vintage api 312's. but after careful consideration, i considered buying the Neve clones by xyz manufacturer. if i don't get those i was thinking about getting the api clones by another manufacturer.

my budget is ~$200

Im trying to figure out where to toss some money into. I did a preamp shoot out with some different preamps.. some more expensive.. some crap. And found subtle differences depending on what the source was. Would buying nicer preamps (nicer then a digi002 stock) help more as to everything i record pretty pretty much running through them?
