FMR compressor?

Hey Fletcher,
It's a pleasure to have you here.
I'm starting up a PC-based DAW in my home in Natick, and am eyeballing that little FMR Really Nice Compressor, both for it's price, and for the good rap it's getting. I know you guys sell'em over at Merc., so I was wondering what your take is on them. Is there any better deal in it's class/price range?
Thanks,

My First Year With 001

Wow, this is KEWL...I'm the first one to post in DAW World!
I bought Digi001 a year ago, my first DAW. I'm very happy that I went that route. At the time, Digi still didn't have 001 available for PC, so I had to buy a MAC to run it, Thank God. I didn't have to make the PC vs MAC decision. I love my MAC. Since then, I got a cheap PC for internet, and 'it
just aint a MAC'.

There's a new sheriff in town...and he's lookin' for

I’ve heard the quote “writing about music is like dancing about architecture” attributed to Frank Zappa on more than one occasion. I suppose that’s true...if it is, then writing about audio can be akin to “dancing an elevator shaft”. Audio, while a necessary component of recorded music, has damn little use on it’s own [imagine a building that was just an elevator?

Mono

No, this isn't about when you got taken out of commission after kissing that cute girl in high school. I'm wondering whether anyone is working on mono regularly. Leave it to da Bear to be weird enough to go from two tracks to one when lots of folks are going to 5.1 tracks (not technically correct, I know). But let me run through my delusional thoughts.

E-Drums for church no cymbals, drums only. Who rules?

I need excellent feeling and sounding e-drums for stage noise purposes. I will never use sampled cymbals, because they are sterile. But I know that the drums themselves can sound really good when sampled right. I have some samples from Sonic Implants that I love. So I know its possible, but is anyone out there "making it happen".
