Hey all. I was messing around with some new plugins and daw. Since this was done on a tasam 34, 4trk reel to reel, I figured itd be a reasonable place to start. I did it with the built in laptop speakers and a little Bluetooth speaker as an alternative. It’s just the mix, I haven’t run it thru any mastering style stuff, or done any editing to the performance yet.

Hey all. I've been working on an original song for a uni assessment. I'm happy with a lot of it, but I'm still unsure how to proceed with a few things.
Everything was recorded in at our uni studio including the synths. There is still one more guitar part to go in but I've almost finished that.

Is it possible to create a commercial-quality mix on headphones? What to look out for when mixing on headphones? How to turn a good pair of headphones into a great one?

I recently finished an album of all-acoustic guitar songs. Kinda jazzy, folky, mellow easy listening. I recorded this particular tune with 2 condenser mics focused in an X-Y configuration near 12th fret. The mics were 2 AKG P170's. The mics were both run into 2 separate tube preamps then into a KORG D888 digital 8 track machine. I recorded the rhythm track first then the lead track next.

Guess this isn't the right place for music made with VSTs.

Alright guys, any Prince fans in the house? Did a simple (and also one of my favorite) Prince tracks as an intro to learning how to work electronic instruments. Looking for thoughts on 1.) mix quality and 2.) performance quality. Thanks!
