Pro Tools 8 notation help
Forums
Well I'm new to pro tools and one of the selling points for me getting pro tools 8 was its score editor seemed like it would be pretty cool. I have one before worked with the note finalle note editor primarily testing out its real time note transcribing as thats what i wanted to do.

Cubase FREEZING explanation
Forums
I am still confused on exactly what FREEZING does to VST instruments (and effect for that matter). Can someone please explain it in simple terms? From what I am gathering on my own, when I make a MIDI track with a VST instrument, save the song & then freeze that track/instrument, I am still able to hear (playback) & mix down the track like normal.

Compression - Where and how should i use it?
Forums
Hi guys
I've heard allot about compression and myself have only messed around with a few plugins. I've heard people say its essential and other people saying there's no need to use it. Where would i use it, I've messed around with it on drum tracks but would it be beneficial to use it on vocals guitar etc.
Thanks
chris

How do I import .aiff or .wav files from Cubase to PT8?
Forums
recently I have been recording music with a friend and we started our recording process in Cubase 2. Since Cubase can't export .OMF we tried exporting each track individually as a .wav and as an .aiff and used a flash drive to transfer it to my computer to mix on Pro Tools. When I tried to import the audio Pro Tools told me it can't recognize the audio.
Steinberg Cubase 5 vs Cakewalk SONAR 8 Producer Edition
Forums
I'm looking to buy some recording software along with a computer interface. My comp is fast, no problems there. I'm thinking about a MOTU 2408 Core MkIII PCIe interface. That leaves me with about a $600 budget for the software. I'm thinking Cubase 5 or SONAR 8. I will mostly record band audio (drums, bass, guitar, vocs) but will also do my singers side project hip hop stuff.

Resolve missing files in Cubase
Forums
I am using CuBase LE 4 and recently archived a project to DVD. I then deleted the project folder. Now every time I open any project I am getting a dialog box resolve missing files. The files that are being listed were all related to the deleted folder, and were never in use by the other projects.
Obviously I did not do this correctly as far as CuBase is concerned. Any thoughts?

Cut Time in Pro Tools
Forums
Can someone help me set up a click track in cut time. PT doesn't seem to have a tool for this.
I need four beats to the measure, with the click on two and four.
If I use 2/4 time, I only get two beats to the measure. With 4/4 I can only set the first beat for different accent, so I can't put an accent on two and four.
