I have tried everything (and it wasn't that much) but I cannot figure out how to take a loop in logic and have it play on a track in the arrange window.

I can drag the loop to the window and the region will appear but when I press play nothing happens.

Is there something else I need to do to get to playback?

I want to start up my own portable recording studio using my macbook pro and wanted to know which software I should use and what equipment to get. I plan on recording voice and instrumental tracks, mainly for songwriting.

I was wondering if anyone remembers these Mic Pre's? I was a teenager in the 70's and only vaguely remember the name Spectra Sonics.

I found a few for sale (just the stuffed board sans trasnformers) and was wondering how they sounded and whether they might be worth racking a couple with some appropriate trafos and a P/S?

How do low temperatures affect electronic (recording) equipment? My home studio is in a basement and the place is not heated the whole day. So basically I'm facing 10 - 13C in the winter (when there's -10C outside). The place is dry, just a bit cold. :)

Ive got Sonar 8 running with my Firestudio project, and when used in either WDM or ASIO mode I can only getting one stereo input (which are mics 1 + 2). I've been trying to fix this but had no luck.

I'm planning on using ASIO mode, since that seems to be the easiest way. When I set everything up it won't let me select my inputs in the driver tab! heres a pic:

Hey there.. i'm looking for a decent piece of software for recording guitar quickly. I have an ESI esui1808 18 channel usb interface and it had 2 HIz inputs.. could any body recommend some really decent software/ plugin to compliment it? i've tried toneport etc... hate it, any suggestions would be appreciated thanks :)
