We had this category a while back called showcase your work.
It's been a while since I presented a recording on my own and after a while commenting on others, I thought I was due to post something

I have been working on an apparently very 'kind' compressor/agc program (mostly developed on Linux, but have been building parallel Windows versions.) It isn't just a straightforward AGC, but has careful algorithms and artifact avoidance.

When mixing, do you ever use professional/commercial mixes as a reference?

Is this something you do often at your own studio, or only when you are mixing at another facility, where it helps you adjust to an unfamiliar environment? Or, do you use this method when using new speakers?

Hey guys,

I put this track up for bashing a few months ago and have since re-worked some of the elements based on your inputs. I used a drier, mid-rangey, snarling rhythm guitar tone (Orange amps in stereo), and cut some of the reverb off the vox. Overall I think it's a solid improvement but would love to hear your thoughts. Does it stand up to the Floyd original?
