Here is something I'd like to share with those who have or have been thinking about using/purchasing an Alesis HD24 by Newmark. Apparently there has been some complaints regarding vibration issues, high sound pressure levels. The machine mysteriously dropping out of record mode? This might help those who have these machines and who may have had these problems. Let me know?

Im considering buying an Alesis HD24 and would like you guys who already own one or have owned one to post up what else you had (mixer, software, etc.)

I'm looking into a 01v96 and cubase, but would like to see others similar setups as the 01v96 is seeming to put me over my budget, especially with the MY16AT plug in.

I know many people have the Alesis HD24XR & HD 24, 24 track hard disk recorders. In the past, numerous people have indicated that a loss of power and/or other type of connection problems can cause a disk to become unreadable by the machine or through the fire wire transfer unit. This recently happened to me. I figured, I would speak to Alesis directly at the AES show.

What's the best way to lock the mpc to the Alesis?

To the AHD24 users out there. What do you use to monitor when tracking a live event? It would be nice to have a rack mounted line mixer with solo buttons, but I don't know of anything like that out there. Any suggestions?

i know that you can hook these two up with the direct outs and the input B. But my question is how do u edit the mix with the mixer using B does it re record it or what it confuses me. the reason I'm asking is because I'm planing on purchasing these two very shortly. If thats not the best way to go do u have any suggestions.

But finally i found a problem while i transfering using it.
The problem as below:

Okay, so I was recording a soprano soloist on a recital yesterday with the Aurora 8 piped to both my computer (via AES) and the HD24 (non-XR) via lightpipe. The computer crashed in the recital, so I was stuck using the backup.

The sample rate was 96kHz.

Total track count was 6.

I have inherited a recording studio project within a youth centre. Currently nothing has been put together but items (still boxed) where brought a couple of years ago. Two items are O1V and HD24. I recognise that a card is needed to connect the two things together using the optical. The MY16-AT card has been suggested.
