I have an opportunity to buy an Alesis power amp (Matica 900) to power my home audio subwoofers. Is anyone familiar with this amp or Alesis power amps in general that can offer comments?

I have heard a crown K1 and it was very impressive for bass, but also quite expensive. I can get this for a good pices used.

I recently tracked with a band at a commercial recording studio onto an Alesis HD24. Now, having recorded everything, I'd like to take the tracks (in their preserved 48K, 24-bit form) directly from the HD24 to my computer for mixdown/post production. Can this be done by running an ethernet cable directly from the HD24 into my tower?

Does anyone own one of these? It looks tempting for a budget minded guy like me, (about $800.00) but would just like to know if this piece is something you see often in the big mastering rooms.

I am considering the purchase of nearfield monitors in the $400.00 price range. Are the Alesis M1 Active mk2 decent? I don't know if this would matter but music style is mostly New Age/Ambient. Nothing "too" loud.

I have made my decision on a board and now I am thinking of rather than recording straight to a DAW using my current MOTU 828 that I would get an Alesis HD24.

I've hooked up my drum pads to my Alesisi D4 - works great - but the D4 internal sounds aren't so great, so...
