I'm sure this question has been asked a hundred times, but what's the best mic you can buy for recording for under $500? I was looking at the Shure SM7b and possible getting a second SM57 too. There are so many to choose from so do you have any suggestions? I've only ever used the SM57 and an AKG Perception 220.
Hello everyone
I tried posting this question over at gearslutz but nobody had any help for me. I forgot about my account here that I had years ago so I'm glad I'm back because I got more help here reading through the forums. Here's the question I asked:
I use an AT4033 for my vocals. I do like it, but I was wondering if there might be another mic in that price range that may be better suited to my voice. Opinionswould be appreciated. Here's a link to my tunes.
Im currently using an Avalon with a tlm 103. It sounds better with fuller voices though. I want to get another mic preampferrably a tube thats warmer then a TLM 103. Any suggestions? Price range is up to 5k, i just want the right mic for this application.
Ok... 10 people standing around a mic... gang vocals for backup in a song... best mic? ideas?
Just wondering what you folks with good ears would suggest.
hey, i started singing not too long ago, i have a crappy mic, I'm gana get a new one after christmas or so, so i need to know what to get, i scream, it varies from stuff like "tha agony scene", "as i lay dying" and "the devil wears prada", theres more but, just to give u an idea, i do a small bit of vocals, so i dont want it to be horible for that,i usually use aduacity on my pc to cover songs,
i see a lot of mics being used for kick drums and bass interchangably. i have an Audix d6 kick drum mic, can i use this to recrod bass guitar as well?
if not, what are some good bass mics?
I'm planning on recording a blend of DI and mic'd. thanks!
Tax money coming! Right now I have a AT 3035 and a Focusrite trakmaster. I have read that the KSM 44 is a great mic for the money. Any thoughts.
