Reverse Phase. How to? Please help!
Forums
I like to mic the bottum of the snare and the backside of the kick drum. I hear people on this site referring to "reverse phase" when Micing things like this. I use Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro (I have a home studio) and I can't find anything that refers to reversing the phase.

Bottom Snare Mic
Forums
Hi everyone!
I am using right now 2 sm57's for the snare (1 on top and for the bottom), and it sound pretty good. But I am thinking to try some other different mic for the bottom snare to have different snare sound option.
Any suggestions? What mic do you use or you like?

Good mic for snare bottom?
Forums
I already mic my toms and top of my snare with SM57's. Is there an affordable mic out there that does well on the snare bottom. I feel I'm using too many 57's as is. .what do you think?
Maybe I can mic the bottom with a 57 and use something else on top?

Getting Nashville Snare Sound?
Forums
Anyone here have any idea how a lot of the folks in Nashville doing the newer country material manage to produce such a hard hitting - yet extremely transparent - snare? Does anyone know what mic's/placement/EQ is generally being used? It's driving me batty... Too much compression sounds fake, too much volume kills the transparency, and extreme EQ's just sound bad... Any suggestions?
