A while back I'd asked a question on how to record vocals using monitors instead of cans, and have the bleed from the monitors be as quiet as possible.

tracking without cans?-advice
I seem to be having more success lately, while tracking my own vocals, in listening through monitors turned low instead of a set of cans. For some reason I'm able to get more control over the old voice(I don't claI'm to be a pro vocalist). when monitoring, I just use a minimum of instrumentation.

Enclosed cans
Do you have a preference to a particular headphone type or to a particular model when monitoring a recording session?
The ubiquitous DT100's seemed to populate many studios at one time - (sound quality and/or ease of repair?)
Which closedback phones are the closest at giving a fair representation of whats happening?
