I have been reading this forum for a while, but never posted. I do however have a question that hopefully someone can answer. Does anyone know if chipset: VIA PT800 + VT8237 for a pentium 4 processor will work with Pro Tools and an 002r? On their compatability page, Digidesign lists some chipsets, but I am not sure if they are the recommended ones or the only ones that will work properly.

915 or 925 chipset with EMU 1820? Anyone tried this configuration? I'm building a new system and want to take advantage of PCI express. I had some issues with the 845G chipset/EMU(painfully resolved...) and I'm looking to upgrade. I'm mostly running XP with Nuendo2. Any one have any experience with this combo? I plan on getting the MBox factory bundle. I know the chip set is a problem. How do I check on the chip set for a computer I don't have yet in order to find out if the included Pro Tools LE software will work? All I know is that the processor is a Pentium 4 w/ HT technology, 3 GHZ, and 800 FSB.

Perusing my latest edition of PC Magazine (August), I came across an article entitled: "A New Era For Desktops." The article discusses the new Intel (64-Bit ready) Chipset releases (915 & 925); and the various innovative technological improvements associated with new bus, storage & memory architectures.

I was looking on the Gigabyte website for motherboards and there was two categories for motherboards with intel 865 chipsets. What is the difference between Intel865G/ICH5 and Intel865PE/ICH5 chipsets.

yo guys.. ne1 had any problems with this COmbination ?
i have a friend that will buy a new CPU and he is going to buy an Athlon with Via ChipSet..
and he read that this combination SUX with Maxi Studio ISIS..
ne had any experiences with ?

Does anyone know of any problems running audio on a Matsonic Motherboard with an sis chipset. here is the chipset: SIS 651 + 961 and SIS 651 + 962.
I am running a gina 20 with P4 2.0, 512 ddr.
please help me cause sometimes it runs great and others it fails. I run Win2K with sonar, nuendo, Acid, WaveLab 4, Sondforge 6, and some other stuff.

Biting the bullet because of my click and pop problems with my old P3 machine, I upgraded to:
Pentium 4 1.7 Ghz
ASUS p4B266-C mobo (intel 845D Chipset)
256 DDRAM (PC 2100)
Audiophile 2496
Inno 3D GeForce 2 MX400 32MB AGP Card

The MusicXP.net & Opus tweak guides both mention chipset drivers yet when I go to intel.com the only chipset drivers they have are listed as for developers and they say to go the mobo manufactorer.
