I have an problem about AES/EBU samplerate between MOTU 896HD and DAT.
When I connect 896HD AES/EBU output to DAT input then change the samplerate by 896HD setup software on my DAW.
Whenever I changed the samplerate from 32k,44.1k to 48k.
The DAT samplerate still stay at 44.1k.
After that I try another DAT but the situation as same before.

I just made the plunge into firewire recording, just ordered a 16 channel firewire mixer. I am really nervous about the latency issue, I had a standalone unit which does not have that problem. How do I go about connecting a external firewire hard drive and the interface together on a laptop? Most recommend an external drive for recording.

I have a Focusrite Voicemaster Pro connected to the 5th TRS channel of Digi 002R via a homemade XLR-to-TRS cable.

Is using a XLR mic cable and adding a removable XLR/TRS adpator better or using a single custom cable better?

I was just looking at picking up some new 1/4" cables to connect stuff in my home studio. Basically, need them to connect preamps to compressors, compressors to the soundcard inputs, nothing fancy. Probably looking at buying about 10 or so for now, probably about 3' to 6' in length. My question is this...

Why shouldn't you connect a mic to a patchbay? I've heard that you shouldn't do this, but I can't think of why not. I'm not planning to do this, I just want to understand why it's supposedly a bad idea. Thanks.

I'm confusing myself trying to work out how to set up a headphone cue system for location recording, any advice on balanced/unbalanced connections would be great:

I'm making submixes in an RME Fireface, using two balanced outputs. I want to eventually connect these to the stereo jack input of an ART Headamp.

I just got a Soundcraft compact 4 for my birthday. i don't know anything about it. how do I hook it up to my pc? Standard audio cables or what?
Where do I plug this thing in the back of my computer. its a Cmpacq...standard. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

Hi i'm thinking about making a home studio, running it all through my PC. I've searched for weeks on the net for info but can't find any. Basically I want to get a mixer (with preamps ), usb interface and software right?

I recently purchased an API 3124 and couldn't be happier. I finally have that kick drum sound I've been wanting. Now I want to get something that's dedicated to recording vocals so I'm thinking about a channel strip. The primary mic that I'll probably use is a Lawson L47.
