60v summing had me and now 120v mixing is opening up new possibilities. What do you think?

So last weekend I was fortunate enough to drive down to Jacksonville, Fla. and pick up this Ramsa WR-T820 console from our own Moonbaby. I'd like to thank him for setting me up with this beast and putting me into another chapter of recording/engineering, which has really grown as a passion for me. Thanks Moon!

This probably should be in the gear forum, you can move it if you want, though its more of an opinion.

Here's my situation.

I'm going to be a part of an all analog session for my own band (though I do recording myself, I'm going to have another engineer who's been doing all analog sessions for a longer period of time than myself.

I am using Sonar x1 which I love by the way! and my inputs and outputs are going through a noisy soundcraft spirit sx desk-have cleaned inside but ready for the tip I think!

I am really fed up with the crackling and having to keep moving sliders back and fore to get rid of the noise!

When I plug the keyboard directly into an input I get static. Even on the lowest of volume. When I connect the keyboard to a DI box and take the output of the DI into a preamp, I get little sound. I have literally tried everything. And I have run out of ideas. Help would very much be appreciated. Thanks!

Anybody have experience with the Soundcraft Spirit M12 mixer? It has direct output that can be made post-fader so I can use my existing A/D D/A converter and use it for its mic preamps. Are the preamps any good? What do they compare to?

I have a Mackie 32x8 8 bus mixing console in my shop for repair.

On 3 channels the lower part (HI and LO EQ) of the 7 EQ pots aren't working at all. And on another channel any manipulation of both the EQ level pots results in a high volume fixed tone.

Anyone had the same issue before? And knows how to fix it?
