Fix for CRT noise?
My Computer Monitor produces a lot of line noise when recording through a mic or an acoustic guitar pickup. By moving around and aiming the mic/guitar in different directions I can greatly reduce the noise that is picked up but not eliminate it totally. And If I turn the monitor off, I have a very clean, noise free sound.

LCD or CRT for DAW
Sorry for all the acronyms in the subject. I have recently had a bad monitor buying experience and am interested in what you guys use or prefer for those long nights editing.
I needed to get a new monitor for my editing console as my fine old Hitachi 19" CRT finally failed.

CRT TV (w/AVinput) used in lieu of monitor (more affordable)
I am very close to stepping off into a pioneering "purchase"area (for all intents&purposes) nobody(in my world) has done it too much as far as I know or can get folks to say, but I am very curious to know just how badly the resulting effect actually is in the doing, I mean, now that I have a Matrox card, my "pc" is now tv compatible but, & Iwant to find out how useful it is (since walma
CRT to TFT or LCD monitor
I'm tired of turning off the monitor everytime I want to record electric guitar.
Would of of those flat monitors help with that. I'm trying to convince my wifre that I need it.
