$400 to $600 Large Diaphragm Condenser Mic
Hey guys, you may want to throw this one into Budget Gear but I'll try it here first.
I'm looking to spend $300-$600 on a large diaphragm condenser mic and would love some advice. The main use will be for vocals, but of course I want something versatile to use on amps, acoustic guitars etc.

small diaphragm condenser recommendations
My studio is looking to add a pair of small diaphragm condensers to our "closet". Probably the two biggest uses they will have will be as overhead/room mics or for acoustic guitar/instruments. But they should as versatile as possible.

Does anyone make Mid/Small Diaphragm Tube Condensers?
Just curious. I couldn't find anything in the archives.
I've found Groove Tubes makes a couple (GT33/GT44), but I can't really find any info on them on the 'net or anyone who's used them. They're reasonably priced at least.
Large Diaphragm Mics, 414, AT 4050, KSM44? Which One?
Hi Kurt. I was wondering if you could give me some advice.
Small Diaphragm Condensers
I am looking to buy one (maybe a matched pair?) primarily for recording acoustic instruments and wondered if you could help me understand the various polar plots that I have seen.
For example AVENSON AUDIO STO-2 shows this plot (from Mercenary):

Small diaphragm condensers for guitar and drums OH
Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a pair of small diaphragm condensers that would work well with an acoustic guitar and for drums overheads.
Some people have suggested the SM81's for me. Any alternatives I should consider? They are within my budget, no problem, but I wonder if they are the best option (they seem to be a studio staple around here).
Thanks.

Looking for an all purpose large-diaphragm condensor mic
I've been looking for a good all-purpose large-diaphragm condensor and I just found a good deal on a used U87Ai locally. It was purchased new and never used, so it's pretty-much brand new. I can get it for $1,450, which seems like a pretty good deal. But then I think to myself that I could get a Shure KSM44 for less than half that price or an AT4050 for less than a third of that price.
Good 1st Large Diaphragm Mic
Looking into getting a nice large diaphragm condenser mic. I currently possess a pair of AKG 451's, some 57's/58's, and an assortment of Audix D mics (1's, 2's, and a 4). Will be using this setup with a home DAW setup. Recording rock/blues/typical crap.

Small diaphragm tube mics
Hi,
I'm considering buying a pair of Neumann (Gefell) M582. I was told that they are pretty much the same as Neumann KM54. Can anyone confirm that?
Thanks in advance.
Richard
