Audio Quality - Behringer C-3 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

Hey!

I record with a Behringer C-3 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone at home. And I don't have an acoustically treated space to record in - I do the maximum amount of soundproofing I can possibly do at home.

Here's a sample of what the mixes currently sound like:

I need a new Large Diaphragm condenser- can you help me choose?

Hi all,

In the recent years I've slowly accumulated most of the studio equipment I need, however for my LDC I'm still using the first mic I ever got from about 4 years ago, a USB Samson G track.

I don't know why I've been so slow to upgrade it, when personally I use my LDC the most out of all mics in the studio.

Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone Help ?

I'm in the market for two nice condenser microphones and will be recording voice recording onto portable recorders like Zoom H4N.

Build quality and sound is a must, Will be using XLR inputs.

Can anyone please give me some input on what you think is best brands and models ?

My price range is 100 $ to 300 $ each mic.

Thanks for any help you can give me !

Diaphragm

The portion of a microphone that is mechanically moved by sound waves. The resulting interaction with a backplate or moving coil (depending on the microphone type) allows the conversion of sound energy to electrical energy.

Overheads: Large or Small Diaphragm?

i am about to invest in some nice overheads, and am not sure weather to buy a matched pair of small condensers or 2 large diaphragm condensers, to use as overheads. I mostly record heavy rock/pop, and like my drums to sound huge. currently using D112 on the kick, sm57's on top and bottom of the snare, and on the toms. Does anyone have any advice on what type of overheads would suit me best?
