I recently got a fostex VF160, and was needing to know how to hook-up an external effects processor

What are the differences between the VF-16, VF-160 & the VF-160EX?

I just bought a VF-16 on ebay for $250. I was wondering if I should've held out for the VF-160EX.

I might buy one for $250. Is this a good, easy way to build a small home/project studio?

I already have an outboard analoge/digital CD burner so I don't need the more expensive VF160EX (CD burner included) and I already have decent outboard gear. I'm switching from an old 8 track analoge TEAC to the digital domain.
Does anybody already own the VF160? Pro's &/or cons?

Im trying to sync my Fostex VF160 mixing console with Cubase sx 2.0 using midi a single midi cable, is this enough?. Midi out from Audigy zs sound card to Midi in on the desk. I've been wrecking my brain going around all the sync settings on cubase, I think the desk settings are fine, but it aint syncing. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

I am looking at the Tascam 2488 and the Fostex VF160EX. Can anyone give me advice to help me make the decision? It is to record some music that my brother's punk rock band plays.

I have some questions about the Zoom MRS 1266.

I will use an external Behringer MX2642A console to add some EQ on the sorce before getting them "on track". But the EQ is just three band with variable mid.

I need a batch program that can batch from an EDL list or OMFI.

Q1.I have an EDL/OMFI and Tascam DA-88. I need to batch the sound from the DA-88 into my computer using the Omfi file or the edl list, and save it as an OMFI file.

Q2.I have heard that you can get a converter that converts the serial port to a 9 pin remote. It is called Rosetta Stone. Do you know of any others?
