I'm running DP 4 on a G5 through an DIGI002 and having trouble. I got the audio working fine with the DIGI Core driver, but am having trouble with MIDI. I'm using a Triton as a MIDI controller and tone generator and have it plugged into analog 7 and 8 on the 002. I will soon be adding a dedicated gigastudio setup via light pipe.

I compared DP 3.11 to DP 2.72 and heard some suprising differences in warmth and detail. 2.72 was better. 3.11 was brighter, dryer, and lacked low-level detail.

I really want to demo another application to further my research. I have ther 2408MKII, so I suppose the application would need to be compatible with that as well as OS9.

Any suggestions?

I read in a past thread that the best order to finish tracks is the following:

1) Bring realtive track level up to -.1db

2) Down sample tracks to 44khz (with anti-aliasing)

3) Add dither noise and convert to 16 bit

I recently purchased a Gigastudio 160 setup with variable components I'm trying to make work together now. For anyone interested in helping, and advice offered on setting all of this up and getting it to work together is extremly appreciated!

The hardware and software are all installed. What I need now is the machines to be able to work in conjunction.

Have people generally upgraded to DP 4+ or are most stil in OS 9 and 3.11?

I have Digital Performer 2.6 on an older Mac (7100 with 266 G3 accelerator) that was working perfectly with OS 8.6, but since I installed Norton Utilities 6 I have problems with the cursor disappearing after a few minutes of working.

In the hopes of adding to the community of Digital Performer users I have started the #digitalperformer channel on IRC's Dalnet Servers.

I've been trying to figure out what PC (Mac or Intel) to get. Initially I will be recording
- a cappella
- 1 to 3 tracks at a time
- will easily get up to 24 tracks so I would like like the capacity to have at least 48
- not sure how many plugins I will want on each track (due to my inexperience with all of this)
