I have some sessions that were recorded on the mx2424 many years ago and backed up on Panasonic DVD ram discs 5.2gb LM-DA52. I want to get the tracks off to mix on another platform.

I have tried a few things and am open to whatever works as I haven't been able to locate a system locally that has the DVD drive.

Please let me know what you think about this PLEXTOR - L890SA?

I need a slow burning drive with the PlexUTILITIES for mastering. This one comes with it and it's not expensive.

i know that a slow mastering burning at x2 or x4 is good, this one i'm not sure if it goes below x8?

Can i use this Plextor? Can anybody recommend or help me with this?

Finally burned a 5.1 AC3 tune, playable on a common DVD player. Here's how!

After much testing and online research, I finally found out how to not only make a 5.1 audio file, but also which of the many formats to use. Using SONY Vegas Pro 9.5 to mix 6 separate tracks to a 5.1 AC3 file. then using Audiomuxer to create a videoTS folder.

A recordable DVD disc. Not to be confused with DVD-RAM and DVD-RW, both of which are rewritable mediums. DVD-R is a write once, read many medium which currently holds about 4.7 gigabytes of information.

A type of DVD media that is designed for storage and backup. No other equipment other than the drive itself is required for a user to use DVD-RAM. In fact, DVD-RAM discs act very much like hard drives, other than being a much slower medium, in that a user can simple drag and drop files on to the desktop icon.

Recording sound samples from DVD to Pro Tools

Hello my names Aaron and I'm brand new to this forum. I've been trying to add movie samples to my Pro Tools sessions by recording from a DVD player to Pro Tools. The DVD player has a coxial output on it and I had the understanding that would work the same as S/PDIF. I've tried using the RCA cables from the DVD player to the S/PDIF in on my MBOX2 but nothing seems to be working.
