Hello dudes, recently a friend told my that the rigth way of adding effects to an audio track (such a reverb) on Cubase SX 3 was trough a send channel, becuz i'll keep my track clean and just send another channel to put the effect over it.
Hi! I just got a new Hardware compressor and I have couple questions on how to get it into the External FX Send & Return.
I have a PreSonus Firepod and they say in the manual that I have to connect the Preamp Output jack, balanced
or unbalanced to the input of the external processor. Then connect the FirePod’s Line Input jack to the output
if you have the track level too high during tracking it might redline yes? So does this work the opposite also? i.e. if you record it too low it will be weak or noisy. And/or does it really matter. I am confused because I remember hearing somebody say that when the DAW redlines it isn't actually clipping but letting you know that when you bounce the track it will clip.

Hi there guys, i need some help. one of the songs i will be tracking shortly has a cool intro and i have an idea to make it even better and more eerie sounding. i would like to take the melody of the intro and make it sound like the eerie sound a baby mobile has when it plays back (its the object that normally hangs above a childs cradle playing tunes as it spins around.
I was wondering if a guitarists brings in his own effects processors(pedals), is it ok for him to use those on tracking? especially tracking to tape?
Dan Auerbach has an amazing voice.. But i am more interested on how he mixes his vocals. I run a home studio with Logic Studio. What effects, Eq, would you use to get the sound you hear in his voice on Black Keys Records
