Using midi metronome to control effects. can it be done and how?

Hi guys. I am looking to use a midi setup with a live 5 piece band. I am trying to use some form of programmable midi tempo/time signature track to also control effects for all the instruments. The effects may be rackmounted hardware or vst(i). I will probably use hardware for the effects and just use a vsti for the drummer's triggers.

How to achieve this effect?

Hello experts.

Im not sure if this belongs to another section.
I want to achieve this specific effect on vocals. I think its a vocoder of some kind but it would really help to know which effect is it (brand and name) or how to reproduce it using Reason5 or any other VI that lets you program vocal processing effects.
Here's two examples from two different genres:

Capturing Sound Effects and Creating Beats

My ultimate goal is to capture sound effects from random objects and make beats out of them.

1. What is the best, cheapest microphone to use?

I'm talking sound effects from ANYTHING: water splashing against shower curtain, click of the keyboard keys, beatboxing from mouth, hand clap, snapping a bubble gum bubble... anything.

Looking for sound effects

I am doing some animated videos, lots of 3D text etc. I am looking for good sound effects. I have looked at several but cant find good ones. They all seem to be overly dramatic, huge blasts and bangs and crashes, great if you're producing one of those over the top radio spots, but I am looking for more subtle, cool sounds. I am not looking for free or cheap, I want the best.
